Youth In Action Conference
Saturday, Nov 9th at Campbell Community Center
What is Youth IN ACTION?
Youth in Action (YIA) is YAPA's goal of making sure that students in the community are able to advocate for their beliefs and have the chance to make their voices heard.
In this conference, we will showcase the hard work of all the students who participated in our summer and first semester program.
Students were a part of one of the study groups that they expressed interest in: Environment (Lehigh Cement Plant Issues), Housing Crisis, Performing Arts in Silicon Valley (Save the Flint Center), Teen Mental Health, and Tobacco Use.
In addition to celebrating the accomplishments of our students and mentors, at the YIA conference, we will discuss topics with legislators and community partners to further civic engagement.
Attendees of all ages are welcome.
